History of the Actual Battle--
The German Point of View
Hitler's Ardennes Offensive - The German View of The Battle of the Bulge, edited by Danny S. Parker, published in 1997 but for some reason hard to find until recently, is a helpful resource.
It is a mix of interviews and essays by the leaders of the three Armies involved: 6. Pz Armee (SS Oberstgruppenführer Josef Dietrich, Generalmajor Fritz Krämer), 5. Pz Armee (General der Panzertruppen Hasso van Manteuffel), 7. Pz. Armee (General der Panzertruppen Erich Brandenberger.
Also included are interviews with Generalfeldmarschall Wilhelm Keitel and Generaloberst Alfred Jodl. Closing the book is a critique of the offensive by General der Infanterie Günther Blumentritt.
Comprised entirely original interviews and analysis provided by the senior German leaders while in Allied captivity, the book has been excerpted below.
